[Exclusive:] Azealia Banks talks gripes with Lil’ Kim and the plan that never happened with them!

Recently, I tweeted about how despite a few concerns I had with Azealia Banks behavior I still really loved her music. This is the raw honest truth, I feel Azealia Banks has something special and unique that we’ve missed for a long time in hip hop. Azealias gripes with Lil’ Kim have been well publicized as they originally planned on working together and somewhere in the middle things went south. The result? Lil’ Kim had nothing to say about Azealia Banks minus a press release statement stating that any beef Azealia spoke of or perpetuated was all a publicity stunt. Azealias response? She quickly took to twitter to spazz out on Lil’ Kim. In fact, every once and a blue we would still see Azealia harp on the Lil’ Kim feud through tweets long after the dust settled and long after Lil’ Kim completely put it behind her. All of Azealia Banks beefs for me felt like contrived publicity stunts. However, I would later find out that that wasn’t the entire story in the book. Azealia Banks would go on to tweet, “I just wish she would just hurry up and e legendary again…She’s better then pay pal mixtapes and useless press.” to which I quickly replied, “You’re better then these tweets you tweet about her too.” That was a very sincere comment from me because I was tired of seeing her drag this thing out with Lil’ Kim with no reply from the other side. It seemed petty and repetitive for no reason. Azealia Banks took personal exception to my tweet, for the first time sending me a direct message stating, “Lol she’s still retweeting bullshit about Summer Jam. I had nothing but honest and positive intentions when I approached her. Her and her team were nothing but confusing and shady. THEY released a press release about “beef”..Not Me..It’s just weird cuz she tried to pin me up against the wall when all I did was reach out and try to work. So now..it’s all a big Joke. It’s a big kiki because all she does is hate on other females to excuse her lack of productivity. I wasn’t even supposed to come out with Nicki Minaj. It was a rumor. Lil’ Kim isn’t even the fly innovator she used to be…let alone even half the artist she used to be. So it’s like your saying that girls are copying you..but your not even keeping up…”. Well this is where I had to interject and let her known that She reminded me of a younger me, a firecracker that will say whatever but as she grows older that will change. I let her know that I love and respect what she brings to the game. But, that sometimes the drama with her can be a put of. And, that I didn’t consider her or kim to be better then the other when it comes to rap beefs. Honestly, Azealia has developed quite a few random beefs in her short time on the scene as well. Is anyone really in the position to judge the other? And, isn’t the competitive aspect in hip hop a huge part of the culture? Furthermore, I added in conversation with Azealia, “I disagree with you with the last few comments you said about Kim and I don’t think you fully believe that either but out of anger because everything turned so sour.” Azealia quickly replied, appearing stubborn, “It’s not even worth discussing anymore. The Lil’ Kim conversation is over. It’s done…It’s her own fault.” And just when I thought the conversation had reached a screeching hault, Azealia revealed that the track she intended to put Lil’ Kim on was “Van Vogue” which was apart of the T by Alexander Wang Campaign. Azealia admitted that Alexander Wang was considering putting Lil’ Kim on the billboard with her because she explained how Ill the collab could be. Hailing more insults Lil’ Kims way She adds, “Like Lil’ Kim on a billoard in Soho?? POPPIN idea right? But nooo she’d rather tour dingy clubs and keep her pride. So now everytime she says something about me, I’m going to very kindly remind her to get her shit together.” To which I replied,” That would definitely have been dope and a great look so it was unfortunate that things ended up the way they did. But, sometimes less is more and if you are truly done with it then just don’t even think of her or speak of her unless she speaks about you because you
will look better that way. I would never disrespect Kim by talking down on what she’s doing. One thing I know for sure is to never count her out.” But I also expressed a hope for things to be patched up between the two and I thanked her for taking the time to message me. I didn’t recieve a positive response to any of my compliments or positive words but instead she replied, “It means more to you then it does to me. She’s a joke..point blank.” To which I couldn’t help but reply, “Azealia you can’t say that when not long before that you were singing her praises. That’s out of anger but anywho can’t wait to hear the Fantasea Mixtape.” Azealia would quickly come back with a reasonable explanation citing, “I’m sure you thought a guy was cute from afar only to get closer and realize he’s actually an idiot. That’s what happened. She did the same thing to Nick..She doesn’t want to be friendly. She wants someone to kiss her ass.” I couldn’t help but laugh about the guy being cute from afar but an idiot up close. I mean, what person on earth hasn’t experienced that? Of course to that I had to say, “fair enough.” But, I told her I wasn’t convinced of the second part because Lil’ Kim is cool with a lot of chicks. I felt that maybe it was just an issue of personalities clashing. As fans we want all the females to be Besties but on a human level we also know that isn’t always realistic because their human just like us and not everyone will like eachother or see eye to eye. I believe as Azealia Banks grows as a person she will be a phenomenal woman. She has a lot of strength, She doesn’t back down and she’s unique. Present day? She has a very childish confrontational side to her but also a very lovable side to her. But, She’s young and she’s still learning herself and learning life. Sometimes, these emotions and words she puts out may be a turn off. However, it doesn’t make her a bad person. Just today, Azealia deleted her twitter account mentioning that her words have gotten her in trouble. Maybe that’s for the best, because sometimes our words can ruin us and she’s too talented of an artist to let her mouth ruin it for her.
